Percale or Supima – how to choose the right bedding

Updated August 2026.
Short answer: choose percale if you sleep warm and love a crisp, cool hotel feel. Choose Supima if you want the softest weave cotton can offer. Ralph is our percale at 200 TC, Regency Lee our Supima at 300 TC, both OEKO-TEX certified.
Two routes to the perfect bed: the crisp, cool feel of percale, or the smooth, lustrous touch of Supima cotton. Both are OEKO-TEX certified — the choice comes down to feel.
Percale – crisp and cool
Percale is a tightly woven cotton with a matte, crisp surface. It breathes well and stays cool against the skin — the classic hotel feel. Our percale (Ralph) has a 200 thread count.
Supima – smooth and lustrous
Supima is a long-staple cotton. The longer fibres make for a smoother, stronger and subtly lustrous fabric that softens with every wash. Our Supima (Regency Lee) has a 300 thread count.
What does thread count mean?
Thread count tells you how tightly the fabric is woven, but it doesn't tell the whole story — the weave and the quality of the cotton matter just as much.
